a walk in west lafayette

Fri, 07/18/2025 - 6:19pm by parkerr

I was in West Lafayette a while ago. I enjoyed it. It's a completely unremarkable community, one filled with international college students and, perhaps because of that, too many overpriced boba tea shops. I really don't enjoy walking up to a tablet and pressing buttons to order a $6.50 14oz sugar cocktail. Not that the sugar cocktails are bad, in fact they even have an option on the tablet in which you can select your desired amount of sweetness! How wonderful! I went with 25%. I think there's something about my unique masochism that makes me crave a drink that does not taste pleasant. Iced black tea scratches this itch, with it's moderately bitter tingle and pang at the back of my throat. Coffee is another option, but only the poorly made, old beans with a slightly sour taste to them. 80% cacao dark chocolate and thrash bands are on the list too. Maybe I should start smoking. Probably Not.
